Bought four Marvin / Integrity french doors for my home. They failed miserably and leaked all over the place. They are under warranty but Marvin / Integrity will not honor the warranty. They have a middle man called Hasting co. that deals with all their problems so you can never talk to anyone from Marvin / Integrity. From the very beginning Hasting blamed everything on builders.....the builders blame everything on the doors and the poor homeowner "me" is left with complete devastation and damage to my home. Marvin / Integrity has NO integrity and I would say buyer beware of this company.....they will NOT stand behind their product and will leave you out in the cold if there are any problems.

I've installed lots of Integrity windows and doors with no issues and Hastings have serviced them well. With over 35 years of installing Marvin and Marvin Integrity windows and doors I've never had a leak, so something here sounds off. What exactly is the problem and what does the rep say that the builder did incorrectly? Where (exactly) and when do they leak?

craigtoo: need your email for direct response.
Both the Andersen & Integrity sliders are good doors but the Andersen door is wood with a painted exterior; Integrity is fiberglass, so I'd prefer the fiberglass - longer lasting than wood. With both of these doors in wider sizes, you need to increase the RO size by 1/2" - the allowed space between the door and header is not enough for the allowed bending of an LVL over 12 or 16'. Note that with both doors, the screen sits outside of the framed wall, so you will need support under either screen.

Thanks Bob,

It's an ICF home so I'd imagine that the deflection won't be an issue, but I'll definitely let the builder know. Thanks for your insight. I've been really impressed thus far with Marvin's dealers and the service has been excellent, but again... that has everything to do with their dealer and not the company itself. For ICF I think the fiberglass is a better choice as well.

UPDATE: A Hasting representative came to evaluate my doors. He was amazed at the amount of water damage incurred and agreed the doors needed to be replaced. I am extremely happy and grateful with the way this Hasting rep. handled the situation. He informed me today that replacement doors are on their way.
