don't you think they would have improved their own numbers? that study did nothing to help oil. it plainly showed that gas units were by and large significantly more efficient than most commonly available oil boiler configurations out there. I see nothing else in that study that contradicts other information I'm getting from datalogging installers, or common sense of the relative efficiencies of the methods tested. Plus, it's brookhaven for pete's sake. wee bit paranoid there Morgen. This isn't "Joe's Sooper Testing Lab". it's BNL. If you can't trust their testing you just plain don't trust anything. Their staff have won six nobel prizes. I'm not sure how much credential you'd need to accept their findings. Understanding of course that lab conditions are never perfect, that study is VERY WELL documented and explained and test methodology and shortcomings very well called out. but read the report and feel free to point out any actual flaws. they give you more than enough info on how the tests were conducts to dissect them if you want. Appendix 11 is the mod/con test description and results. I'm sure you can point out a few things that would give a few extra points. |
